Echo-Surgery is an event dedicated to the role of echocardiography in the perioperative assessment of patients with valvular heart disease. This edition has been expanded to include discussions on additional topics, such as endocarditis and prosthetic valves.
The course structure remains consistent with previous editions, featuring theoretical lessons in the morning and practical afternoon sessions led by renowned national and international tutors.
Echo-Surgery is an advanced course where imaging specialists, interventionalists, cardiac surgeons, and cardiac anesthesiologists collaborate to discuss and plan treatment strategies for cardiac surgery and structural heart disease based on their clinical experience.
The hands-on component of this edition includes:
• 2D/3D TEE workshop on planning structural interventions using workstations provided by GE and Philips
• wet-Lab featuring porcine heart dissection, conducted by surgeons and imaging specialists in a combined session
• anatomical specimen correlation with 3D echocardiography in a session led by a pathologist and a radiologist/imaging specialist
